While Punjab's Information Minister, Azma Bukhari, claims the jet is part of the upcoming Air Punjab's fleet, there is no official announcement or cost revelation from the Punjab government. Opposition leaders have pointed out the lack of transparency in the approval process, with the jet technically still registered in the US.
A Costly Comparison
Critics have drawn parallels to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), a chronic loss-maker, which was privatized for approximately 10 billion rupees. The same amount reportedly spent on this single jet has sparked outrage, especially considering PIA's financial struggles.

In an attempt to contain the political fallout, Minister Bukhari clarified that the jet is not for personal or VIP use. She stated that it is part of a fleet being built for Air Punjab, a provincial airline approved last year.
